post-musical musings

are suspended until i get to see the video - it's pretty hard to review something you've never seen. of course i have this pretty image in my brain of how every scene is supposed to be, but being kind of... on the other side of the world, i decided to forgo the bulk of stage directions and let the kids take it whichever way they wanted. and between kenny and caleb i'm sure they did a great job.

interesting to note that sekali i and noodle blues turned out to be the big crowd favorites. noodle blues was included almost as an afterthought. we needed something lighter and more comic to balance out the emo bleaaarghness of act 2, and being lazy, we ripped off the previous musical. (auntie wailumn was incorporated also for the above reason). sekali i - was written relatively early, but then i began to have issues weaving it into the plot. it was going to be the culminating point of the gina-garrett romance, post-defeat of auntie wailumn, but that whole bit got a bit messy and also i ran out of time, oops. so it became a pseudo-finale of sorts. still, i'm glad they enjoyed the local flavor.
